メキシコの Maquinas Records より Shades of Grey の1st LP "Freedom / Incarceration" のCDバージョンが待望の入荷。オーダーはこちら。


SHADES OF GREY - freedom / incarceration CD (maquinas) ￥1,200

Acclaim Collective からリリースした Shades of Grey の1st LPのCDバージョンがメキシコの Maquinas Records ほか全5レーベルでリリースされた。また本作は2011年1月に敢行されたかれらのメキシコ・ツアーに合わせてリリースされたものだ。ボーナス・トラックとして、split LP with Massmord の全5曲も収録 （この作品は1stアルバムの本作よりさらに初期 Tragedy 色濃いが、その Shades of Grey 的解釈がさいこうの形でなされているこれまた傑作）。本作については以下の当方のレビューを参照のこと。

" Shades of Grey はスウェーデン・ストックホルムの現代的なアナーコクラスト・バンドだ。demo CD、split LP/CD w/Massmord を経て、待望のファースト・フルアルバムが完成。彼らは、Sakke (drums)、Diana (guitar, vocals)、Maria (bass, vocals)、Martin (guitar, vocals) という4人のメンバーで構成される。楽器も兼任する Diana と Maria の2人の女性がメイン・ヴォーカルを務め、悲しげなメロディと力強いスウェディッシュ・スタイルのDビートがミックスされた、怒りに満ちたクラストコア・サウンドをプレイする。そして突進するような勢いを保ちつつ、ドラマチックなパートのその融合も見事だ。本作ではさらにダークネスな要素が加えられており、曲構成にもさらに壮大な詩的要素が加えられている。また、Massmord のメンバーがバックアップ・ヴォーカルで参加、そのサウンドを盛りあげる。歌詞の内容はアルバム・タイトル──"Freedom" (自由) / "Incarceration" (監禁) がすべてを物語っている。「個人の監禁」は、学校制度・男性優位・宗教・軍国主義・その他あらゆる「システム」に内在している。彼らが本作において言及しているように。つまりこのことは次の彼らの言葉によって多くの意味を持つことになるだろうか: 「私たちが今日の政治/経済システムを注視するなら、私たちはどこに立つのか？ 個人の自由は他者の監禁に依っているのか？ 私たちは共存しているのか、競争しているのか？」。16ページ・ブックレット付。Sadness of Noise (アイルランド)､Contraszt!
