DROPEND - Demonstration 2011 Tape

ニュー・東京クラスト "Dropend" の1stデモが、Babeldöm、Tantrum などのリリースで現在精力的に活動中の Narm Discos よりリリース。ツインヴォーカル、ツインギターという編成、そして ex-Babeldöm のドラマーが在籍のこの6ピースはちょっとこれまで日本にいなかったタイプの音かもしれない。基本 ENT、Disrupt あるいは Raw Noise、Dropdead なんかにあるんだろうが、90年代以降のブルータルなスウェディッシュ・クラストや現在で言えば Raw Hate、Warvictims なんかの要素もあるんじゃないか。つまりなんというかこういった編成・音での「純」クラストはこの地では新しいと思う。一辺倒にならず言いたいことが伝わってくる高/低ツインヴォーカルに始まって、ツインギター (2本のギターの表現の仕方もいい)、ベース、ドラムすべてのパートがかっこいい。それが練りあげられた曲構成で猛進してくる。歌詞は支配と管理に対しては見えないものを見ようとする、そのような抵抗の在り方を叫んでいる。サイレンと共に始まる "Die?" から、アルペジオと共に始まる "Bloody One Day.Friday Of Oblivion.1959" まで全5曲。しかし1stデモでこれだけの完成度を追求してくるとは (逆に言えば1stデモだからこそだろう)。ジャケットに書かれた "Brutal D-beat Noise Attack" に偽りなし。Noiseroom 録音。完全プロコピー仕様。

昨日、IRA で買ったドイツの Fire and Flames 製メタル・ピンバッヂはマジ全部欲しい。今度 Acclaim でも仕入れよう。

ちなみに、この Fire and Flames はレーベル (コレクティブ) としても機能していて、元々 CrimethInc. からリリースされていた From the Depths - Germinate のLPバージョンもリリースしている。

SOLIDARITY APPEAL against the ARREST of 2 ACTIVISTS

2 activists have been arrested during a demonstration in front of the US embassy.

We strongly condemn these arbitrary and illegal arrests and demand the immediate release of the 2 activists.

This demonstration was against the construction of a heliport that is part of the US military base in Takae, Okinawa. This construction is carried out despite the opposition by the people of Takae town. We had asked for talks with the US embassy which they granted us to be held at 16:00 on Feb.20. The police of Akasaka district agreed to stand nearby the embassy.

When we arrived at the rendez-vous place, the police wouldn't let us go near the embassy, resorted to violence against 2 activists and arrested them. When another activist asked the police on what grounds, the reason for the arrests,they said that" the reason would be given later, after the arrests". This answer is a total denial of rights. A protest is a legitimate and legal right of citizens that the police cannot deny through violence.

After the arrests, the police refused us the request to hold talks at the embassy by asking us threateningly if we wanted to be arrested like the others.

The police prevented lawyers to see the arrested activists on the first day. All these acts by the police are illegal. The response of the US embassy is that they had commissioned the talks with the citizens at the Akasaka police district.

It is clear that these arrests are a message from the Japanese and US governments that any opposition to US military bases will be suppressed by force.

We condemn the illegal arrests and demand the immediate release of the arrested activists.

スウェーデンは Göteborg の Black Block Punk Rock "Protestera" の3rdアルバム "01.05.1886" のCDバージョンが Halvfabrikat Records より入荷。「我々はパンクは労働者階級にルーツを持っているときっぱり言う」という強い主張から始まり、以下のような題名がつけられた4つのアーティクルに終わる──といったように、"階級敵" (つまり「我々」) を完膚なきまでに叩きのめす内容となっている。

「お前には力がある、だが夜は我々のものだ」

「すべての符号は詩だ、すべての都市は本だ」

「階級闘争なくしてフェミニズムなし、フェミズムなくして階級闘争なし」

「平和を欲するよりも、まずは階級闘争の地獄を」

"01.05.1886" というタイトルの意味が分かったような気がする。

Sju Svåra år

そして、Burning Kitchen、Wolfbrigade、Abductee S.D.、Våld、To What End? らのメンバーによるスーパー・ポリティカル・メロディック・パンクロック・グループがかれら──Sju Svåra år。結成は2001年と古い。2003年にバンドは一時ストップしたらしいが、ここ数年また再開したようだ。ついにデビュー12" "Storma Varje Hjärta" が控えている。これは Project Hopeless/Avfart 13 のメンバーが運営する Not Enough Records 及びポーランドの Trujaca Fala よりリリースされる。U.S.盤はたしか Feral Ward から。

昨年の pre-Punk Illegal でのパレスティナの旗を振りながら唄う野外アコースティック・ライブがヤバい。

Acclaim Collective が今海外においてフィーリングがハマるというのかな、もっとも注目しているのがスウェーデン。今回はもうじきリリースされる Insidious Process / Avfart 33 - split LP を紹介したい。

まずは Göteborg 出身のアナーコクラスト・マッドネス "Insidious Process" は当コレクティブでも以前 demo CD-R をレビューした超期待の新鋭。2009年に結成され、Protestera のドラマーがこのバンドでもドラムを叩いている。

次に Malmö 出身の Avfart 33。かれらも2009年に結成されたばかりのニュー・バンドで、Beyond Pink、Project Hopeless らのメンバーが在籍している。重厚なポリティカル・Dビートパンクが強力で、昨年 demo CD-R をリリースしたばかりだ。

というわけで、この2組の注目バンドの split LP がスウェーデンの Halvfabrikat Records、アメリカの Aborted Society Records、フランスの Undislessed の3レーベル共同でリリースされる。

Review: Peace of Mind - Values Between 0 And 1 LP

PEACE OF MIND - Values Between 0 And 1 LP

2003年にリリースされた当時はいわゆる「エモーショナル・ハードコア」や「メロディック・パンク」の範囲に入れられたために、日本では広義に広まらなかったドイツの Peace of Mind の唯一のアルバム (リリース元のレーベル "Scene Police" は既に存在しないため入手困難)。90年代初頭から活動を開始したこのバンドには本作以前に split LP w/ Anomie、split 7" w/ Upset のリリースがある。さらには、同時代の Lost World や Inner Conflict などのこの地における知名度と比べると陰に隠れているが、作品もあまり流通されてなかったのでそれもしょうがない。そして本作後に解散。とはいえ、そのようなバンドが好きならどうしても聴いてほしいバンドだ (タイプは違うけれど)。冒頭で触れたとおりたしかに「エモーショナル・ハードコア」や「メロディック・パンク」なのだが、ここで言われるのは80's中期DCハードコア影響下のそれである。Rites of Spring、Grey Matter、Marginal Man などの名前をあげることができよう。エモーショナルで強力なフックをもったメロディック・パンクロック・サウンドと、怒りに満ちていながらも美しい男女ツインヴォーカルのコンビネーションは、実はこのバンドがまぎれもない「ポリティカル・ハードコア/パンク」であることを現わしている。もし本作を入手することができたなら、新世界秩序、監獄制度、宗教と政治、移住労働者問題 (排除) などに対して、内面の闘争からファイトバックを呼び掛けるようなその長文の歌詞を読んでみてほしい。ちなみに、男性ヴォーカルのギタリストはポリティカル・オールドスクール・ハードコア "Highscore" のギタリストでもあった。また、女性ヴォーカルは現在 Six Year Plan で活動中 (Stonehenge の反セクシズム・コンピで聴くことができる)。ズバリな Maginal Man のカバー含む全11曲。

東京の Hardcore Survives から待望の2作が入荷しました。いや入荷していたのだけど、レビューを書いてから更新しようと思ってたので遅くなってしまった… Soくん、ごめん。

ASOCIAL TERROR FABRICATION - under the dark force EP (hardcore survives) ￥800

"5 tracks demo" をリリースしたときから注目していた東京の (エクスペリメンタル) ステンチ・クラスト "Asocial Terror Fabrication" の満を持してのファースト・シングルがついに Hardcore Survives からリリース。このバンドの暗黒クラスト・サウンドを説明するのに、Doom や Sore Throat といったバンド名の羅列は既に必要ないかもしれない。私はやはり彼らのそのエクスペリメンタル性が非常に気に入っている。Sore Throat に影響を受けているなら、もちろんそのことはうなづけるし、彼らの MySpace にアップロードされている "Nuclear Frost (Sunnova Edit)" などを聴くと、ますますこのバンドは面白いなあと思う。本作においてもそのような性質がところどころに垣間見えて本当にかっこいい。私的意見になるが、 Cress のような政治色濃いエクスペリメンタル性もあるような気がする。それとバンド自身が影響を公言する Agathocles の名前もあげていいかもしれない。レコーディングという手法を最大限有効に活用したようなつくりこまれた全6曲。

UNARM - hypocrisy EP (hardcore survives) ￥800

“Hypocrisy” (偽善) と題された東京のパワフル・ポリティカル・クラッシング・クラスト "Unarm" の本作が初となるファースト・シングル。いわゆる Unarm というバンドだけでなく、ムーブメントとしてのパンクをつくりあげようとしている彼らだが、個人的に本作ベスト・ソングと言える "Punk Revolution" はそうした経験から生まれたものなのだろうか？ さだかではないが俺はその "Punk Revolution" の歌詞を読みこの曲を聴いたとき、彼らがまた一歩前進しているような気がした。全体的な仕上がりと言えば、こちらも最高の出来と言っていいかもしれない。90's東京クラスト影響下にありながら、とことん怒りと激しさを前面に押し出す Unarm 節をひたすら追及しつつ、曲の完成度があがっている。表情がある曲はメッセージにさらに説得力をもたらしてくれるということを体現してるんじゃないかな。3面パネル式のジャケットに描かれたアートワークも普遍的なものと一線を画したものになっている。怒りと激しさに満ちていること疑いない全8曲。

日本のマスメディアでは、"エジプト騒乱で威力を発揮したソーシャルメディア" (読売新聞) などと宣伝されてるが、どうもこういうのは信用できない。まあ分かりやすいよ。

もちろんエジプトの状況は知らないので偉そうなことは言えないけど、この記事を読むかぎりたしかに「現場」を即時につなぐ手段として、Facebook なんかの SNS はうまく機能してるんだろう (それは否定しないしおれも実際利用してるよ)。でもやっぱその「現場」がこれまでにつくりだされてきた過程に SNS は関係ない。と、おれが勝手に思ってるんだけど、だいたい仲よしこよしで「いいね！」とか言い合ってるところに「本質」なんかないよ。みんながみんなのこと考えられないよ、こんなところじゃ。

てか、この記事読んで「暴動」起こしたいと思わないもんな。「他の世界」だよ。もしこれで鼓舞された人がいるなら、おれたちそれぞれがなぜ「暴動」起こしたいのか考えないと。それが「現場」ってもんだろ。やっぱ SNS は肝心なところでおれたちを鎖につなぎとめておくツールだ。

昨日入荷した King Terror / Agathocles - split 10" で、久々に Agathocles 聴いてるけどやっぱかっこいいね。歌詞もかっこいい。昔から「ユーモア」あるけど、肝心なところを絶対忘れない。

Hellstorm

Forgotten Prophecy (split LP w/ Mushroom Attack)、Chaotic End、Hibernation といったバンドを輩出してきたことで、とりわけ80年代後半～90年代全般のギリシャのDIYパンク/ハードコア・シーンを語ることにおいて、Amebix、Antisect などのバンドの名がだされることは頻繁であった (Hibernation のメンバーが言うには、当時シーンにいたほとんどの人間がみな友達同士で同じような音楽を聴いていたからとのこと)。

それほど、これら80's UKアナーコ・ピースパンク・バンドの影響が大きく、ヨーロッパにおいては「ギリシャ」とまで言われたこの地だが、それが現在においても継続していることを感じさせる新たなバンドを紹介したい。

その名は Hellstorm。2009年にデモをリリースし、今年に入り片面ピクチャーLP (そのデモのレコード化) をリリース。Amebix meets Hellbastard とでも言うべきサウンドで、Warcollapse なども彷彿させるが、どこから聴いてもギリシャ特有のクラスト/ステンチコア・サウンドで震える。これはぜひにでも入荷させたい。

Review: La Fraction - La Vie Revee LP

LA FRACTION - La Vie Revee LP

フレンチ・ベスト・パンクロッカー "La Fraction" の全10曲収録の名作3rdアルバム。超がつくほどのフレッシュさとエナジーをかねそなえたメロディック・パンク・サウンドとこれまたサウンド同様の表現をしたいフィメール・ヴォーカリストのコンビはやはり「ノー・ワード」で問題ないだろう。そして彼女がビブラートを効かせて唄う個人的/政治的な歌詞は、私たちそれぞれがこのシステムから降りること──そのことを学ぶことが私たちすべてに何をもたらしてくれるかの問いをつねに差し出してくれる。手短ではあるが、La Fraction 流の反セクシズム・ソングと言える "The Box" (箱) のなかから印象に残った言葉を抜粋してこのレビューを終わりにしたい: 「私は内側から開く箱のなかに住んでいる。それは内側から開きます。」
